The Swedish promotion started at 10 am the next morning and to Alan's pleasure began with a couple of hours of back-to-back 'phoners' (which he could do from his hotel room). Most of them were conducted with him wandering around in various states of undress - believe me, not a pretty sight at 10 o'clock in the morning when one's nurturing a hangover. With thick snow on the ground, temperatures approaching minus 10 and the hotel bar heaving with 'Spy Bar' doppelgangers, there didn't seem anywhere to go without enduring a certain level of discomfort, so the final night of our trip was spent in the warm haven that was our hotel room - until Alan, that is, kicked off the evening by trying to turn the TV around which promptly crashed from it's stand and not surprisingly ceased to work. Just for good measure, he also managed to break the stereo - by accident of course - but not what one would expect from a man who spends much of his life surrounded by technical equipment. Oh well, there's always Paris...
