More as an afterthought was her contribution to 'Jezebel', where her voice was really used as an augmentation to the main vocal by The Golden Gate Jubilee Quartet.

"One interesting technical exercise that I gave Diamanda, was to copy 'parrot fashion' an existing guitar solo with all it's nuances and pitch bends. The idea was to mix the two parts together and crossfade between them to create a weird hybrid. Of course she did this perfectly and I think the results, used in 'Strange Hours' are very unusual."

Diamanda seemed to enjoy her stay with us because she made a very definite attempt to miss her flight back to the Big Apple by forgetting to pack half the contents of her luggage. As the minutes to take-off ticked by and the faithful Douglas looked on (Douglas the driver, not Douglas the depraved), everything was yanked back out of her bags and splayed across our front door steps in a vain attempt to find her tickets and passport. "Here, hold this" she spat, shoving a copy of 'The Shit Of God' and fifteen tubes of green algae face mask into his hands. "I know the goddam f***in things are in here some f***in' place....."

The offending articles were eventually found upstairs in her room together with various bits of clothing, books, important legal documents, family heirlooms, the kitchen sink........well, you get my drift.....

Alan: "Diamanda was great fun, fussed over Paris and was a joy to have around for 5 days - not to mention a dream to work with. I hope everyone enjoys the results, because to my ears, the work she did on 'Liquid' sounds completely different to anything she's done before."
